SF Advertiser launches local deals site
Published Thursday 13 of May, 2010
Since 1970, SF Advertiser has offered business owners a low-cost way to advertise compared to the expensive daily newspapers. Their new website is designed in the same spirit: no articles, no frills, just great local deals and free promotional opportunities for local businesses!
It may look really simple and easy-to-use, but the SF Advertiser site has some serious back-end programming in Ruby-on-Rails and uses our Refinery CMS.
Deal seekers can search or sort coupons by category, neighborhood, newest, most popular or biggest savings. They can vote on the deals, and share on Facebook and Twitter.
Local Bay Area businesses can create a coupon in minutes, for FREE. This model has worked successfully for over 40 years. Now it's updated and relevant for an online world. In Phase 2, we'll take the site mobile. Stay tuned...
